This 20 x 24” consists of all real acorns and oak leaves sealed in a heavy resin, mounted on a wood board. My wife and I now live in Windsor, but this painting was inspired from our home in Midland, Ontario. In the Fall, acorns fell like rain from our oak tress. I got clobbered on the head so many times while cutting the grass I was tempted to wear a helmet. Some spots on the ground had so many acorns it was like a bag of marbles had been spilled. I began to pick them up and toss them into bags. Always the artist, I soon wondered what I could do with these. It seemed a shame to toss them and they certainly were doing a good job of getting my attention. So here you have carefully washed acorns and waxed oak leaves all nicely sealed with resin into one big nut. Really. This is Nuts! This is a heavy piece and is packaged extra safely.
